KRAIBURG has taken proactive steps towards energy conservation and has initiated various energy-saving projects to alleviate the situation and make a positive contribution to the environment and the community. Related projects include upgrade of chiller and production machine motor.
Situated in Suzhou Industry Park, where electricity consumption is considerably high due to the concentration of manufacturers, KRAIBURG Rubber (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. understands the need to limit industrial electricity usage to ensure a stable supply for civilians, as mandated by the local government since summer 2021. We have taken proactive steps towards energy conservation and has initiated various energy-saving projects to alleviate the situation and make a positive contribution to the environment and the community.
In October 2022, KRAIBURG Rubber Suzhou embarked on its sustainability project by replacing an old chiller machine that had been in operation for over 16 years. Recognizing the significant advancements in energy-saving technology for chiller machines, KRAIBURG Rubber Suzhou opted for a new model that could save 15-25% in power consumption for the same working load. The company collaborated with the supplier to conduct on-site measurements and tests, which revealed that the new chiller consumed 19.6% less power than its predecessor in the workshop. This translates to a return on investment in just four years through energy savings. After about six months of operation, the new chiller has proved to be a great performer and has delivered the expected results.
Another minor project undertaken by KRAIBURG Rubber Suzhou involved upgrading their production machines. The company installed an updated motor with lower energy consumption and added frequency control. This motor can adjust its speed via a pressure sensor and will only run at full speed when the flow is too low. It is estimated that this project will result in an annual energy saving of 86,000 kilowatt-hours.
